More About

With Glee and Smash off the air right now, many South Floridians are missing their fix of all things musical. Luckily, the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus is here to satisfy your wanton Broadway needs. Celebrate diversity through music, laughter, and some adult-themed humor in their “Comedy Tonight” show. Be prepared: These comedy stylings are of the R-rated variety. In a gay men’s chorus? Shocking. Along with well-known musical numbers (let’s hope they do “The Internet Is for Porn” from “Avenue Q”), they will also put in skits from top Broadway shows. The chorus has been around for an impressive 26 years, and the original director, Dr. Gary Keating, has returned to direct the upcoming show. Audience members can look forward to seeing excerpts from plays like “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Sordid Lives,” “Avenue Q,” “Altar Boyz,” and “The Producers.” The Museum of Art is located at 1 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Event starts at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets cost $40 for premium seating and $25 for general admission. Visit theftlgmc.org.
