There will be no navel-gazing mope rock as part of the burgeoning summer music series at Yellow Green Farmers Market. "It's an upbeat, happy place selling organic, healthy things," said Karin Fields, who works with the market to coordinate weekly music acts and plans to keep things sunny and light. When Hialeah-based instrumental band Electric Piquete takes the stage today, it will be the start of a more cohesive effort to bring in local acts with a steady following to the year-and-a-half-old market. Named Best Latin Band of 2009 by our sister paper the Miami New Times, the band’s funk-fusion sound — which Fields dubs as versatile — pulls from influences as disparate as Frank Zappa and Marvin Gaye. The market is open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Electric Piquete performs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is no charge to visit the market.
