Ever been watching a mixed martial arts match and seen a foot sweep so impressive that you have said to yourself, "Dang, that should get an award"? Well, fist of fury follower, that time has come with the inaugural 2012 Florida MMA Awards. This red-carpet, black-tie affair rolls into Miramar this Sunday and will spotlight the upper echelon of the sometimes-brutal sport. In attendance will be Ultimate Fighting Championship superstars Hector "Lighting" Lombard, Mike Brown, and Antonio Silva and other individuals who have made MMA so huge. Best Knockout, Best MMA Personality, Best Gym, and Best Promoter are but a few of the categories up for contention. The 2012 Florida MMA Awards will take place at the Miramar Cultural Center on Sunday. It is located at 2400 Civic Center Place in Miramar. Cost to attend is $45.
