Once upon a time, witches were the evil villains of cautionary tales meant to keep children on the straight and narrow. But these days, from Wicked on Broadway to the world of Harry Potter, witches have gotten a PR makeover for the better. Friendly witches will be dusting off their broomsticks and starching their pointy hats as they wait for you to join them for Story Time With the Good Witch on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Flamingo Gardens in Davie. The event begins with a hunt for the Good Witch's house through the boo-tanical gardens, followed by story time and a costume contest. Children won't want to miss the treats, crafts, and hayrides. The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 to 11, or come in costume and attend the event for half price. Entry is free for Flamingo Gardens members and children 3 and under.
