Before pop music morphed into the overproduced, sex-crazed, Auto-Tuned abusing clamor it is today, there was a simpler time when the boogie-woogie of rockabilly ruled the airwaves. The radio reveled in tales of beaches, babes, booze, and love. This Saturday night, Lake Worth dive bar Speak Easy Lounge is bringing back the glory of the golden oldies of yore with HiGrade's Rock-n-Roll Dance Party. Ladies, bust out those poodle skirts, and hepcats, smear on that hair wax and get ready to get your hips swaying to the sounds of DJ HiGrade as he unleashes a romping mix of Elvis, Chuck Berry, Dick Dale, and many more '50s and '60s favorites.
The throwback merriment gets under way at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Speakeasy Lounge, located at 129 N. Federal Highway in Lake Worth. No cover, and $4 wells all night, daddy-o. Call 561 791-6242, or visit speakeasylw.com.
