More About

Move over, all you other Florida film festivals; the Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival (the largest Jewish film festival in Florida) is about to kick off Thursday and will run through January 27. Although there will be 39 films available to view, opening night in particular is going to be special. Aly Raisman, who won Olympic gold in 2012, will be there Thursday to speak after the premiere of Hava Nagila: The Movie at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, located at 701 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach at 7 p.m. Raisman actually used the song “Hava Nagila” for her floor routine in a touching dedication to the Israeli athletes who lost their lives at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. General admission to opening night is $15. Throughout the festival, screenings will be held at various places, so visit pbjff.org or call 561-736-7531 for a full schedule.
Thu., Jan. 17, 7 p.m., 2013
