American pride reigns supreme at the 25th Florida Mopar Nationals Car Show and Swap Meet this Sunday. Lovers of everything Mopar (a hybrid of motor and parts, signifying cars built by Chrysler) and AMC (American Motor Corp.) will unite and trot out their best USA-made (for the most part) vehicles in hopes of capturing the best-in-show award. Everyone will be a winner, though, as wall plaques with award levels (gold, silver, bronze) will be presented to all participants. The first 200 registrants also get a free goody bag, so it is best to rev up the hot rod and arrive early. Look out for door prizes, a raffle, and 50/50 drawings all day as well. The best part is, this muscle-car exhibit is all for a good cause, as proceeds gathered from the event go to the Darrell Gwynn Foundation -- a group that provides support for individuals with paralysis and helps raise awareness on spinal cord injury prevention.
The muscle-car madness happens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rob Lambdin's University Dodge, located at 5455 S. University Drive in Davie. It costs $20 to enter your vehicle in the show. Call 954-920-7096, or visit floridamopar.com.
