As much as we enjoyed Edward Norton and Brad Pitt's sweaty bods punching each other in the clandestine Fight Club, this is one ring you can definitely talk about. We promise.
Friday night, Fight Time Promotion's Fight Time 16 will bring 22 scantily clad professional boxers to the cage stage to battle it out in 11 duels. Regardless of your ability to distinguish a hook from an uppercut, participate in the raucous shoutfest as bad calls and low blows raise tensions. The night will culminate in the ultimate brawl as Fight Time Promotions' Lightweight Champion, Vagner Rocha, takes on American Top Team's contender Randy "Venezuela" Barroso. Rocha is on a three-fight winning streak; Barroso has not lost any of his five Fight Time fights. Because this is sure to be an out-of-your-seat clinch, leave your mitts at home and stay on the safe side of the ropes as Broward's best men spar for the coveted title and colossal gold belt in this uproar of strength, speed, and reflexes.
The match takes place Friday from 8 to 11 p.m. at War Memorial Auditorium, located at 800 NE Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale. Doors open at 7 p.m. General-admission tickets begin at $34. Ringside seats cost $86. Visit fighttimepromotions.com, or call 786-543-1177.
