He made sideburns and flamboyant leather jumpsuits famous. And women swooned over him and still do today. Sorry, ladies. Elvis isn’t coming to town. But one of his good friends is making an appearance. Legendary romantic balladeer Engelbert Humperdinck is making his way to South Florida, and he’s ready to serenade audiences at the Pavilion at Seminole Coconut Creek. Humperdinck, who came into this world as Arnold George Dorsey, has been a legend in the international music industry for more than 40 years and has sold in excess of 150 million records. He’s received four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe for Entertainer of the Year in 1988, 63 gold records, 24 platinum records, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This vocalist is popular not only among his core audience but he has struck a chord with the younger generation as well. Currently, Humperdinck is recording a new CD with Grammy Award-winning producer Martin Terefe (Train, Jason Mraz, James Morrison, and Beverly Knight) with “a lot of fantastic young, hip, and surprising collaborations.” Don’t miss your chance to be serenaded by the man with a “voice from heaven” on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, located at U.S. 441 (State Road 7) and Sample Road at 5550 NW 40 St. Tickets cost $45 to $65 and are available at ticketmaster.com.
