Let's face it: Savoring the rich complexities and fine nuances of small-batch beers is spiritual. Taste buds worship each flavor as it washes the palate with hints of coconut, spice, and whatever creative concoction the brew master conjured up. And there is nothing quite like enjoying good beer while seated in a cozy, dimly lit space like Boca Raton's popular locale the Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery.
In fact, this artsy lounge grew so popular due to its sweet, live-entertainment nights and superior house brews that it expanded its space three years ago. To honor its spacious digs, the Buddha is throwing a three-year brewery anniversary party Saturday night and wants you and your buddies to come out.
The lounge's beloved brews, like Maple Bacon Coffee Porter, No Crusts, Last Snow and several surprise releases, will be on tap for the shindig. Chef duo Caleta Peruvian Cuisine will provide eats for those in between sipping moments. And musicians the Loopholes (7 to 8:30 p.m.) and acoustic Mylo Ranger (9 p.m. to midnight) will take the stage, offering attendees a well-rounded sensory experience.
Rub the Buddha's belly for luck and enter the raffle to score some cool prizes, like brewery memberships and Buddha-brand gear. Winners will be announced just before 9 p.m., between the live music sets.
Doors open at 4 p.m. and will close at 2 a.m. Saturday at Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery, 2621 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton. Visit thefunkybuddha.com, or call 561-368-4643. Tickets cost $4; three tickets cost $10.
