Philanthropy is Hilarious

Move over, Bob Sagat; wholesome knock-knock jokes get old real fast. Everyone knows the best jokes are the ones that can't be told in front of children! But that doesn't mean you can't laugh at their expense or, in this case, for their benefit. Carnival Cruise Lines' top comedians will be standing up in front of the spotlight shelling out provocative quips to raise money for the approaching holiday season at the Toys for Tots Comedy Show on Tuesday. All proceeds from the event will go to purchasing Tonka trucks and Barbie dolls for little boys and girls in need. South Florida comedian Eli Rodriguez will cohost the night and introduce funny guys Lester Bibbs, Happy Cole, and Tommy Drake. They stress that the event is not family-friendly but that everyone's still excited to get dirty for the kids. Fort Lauderdale Improv is located at 5700 Seminole Way in Hollywood. Tickets cost $20. There is a two-drink minimum. The event is 18 and over to laugh, 21 and up to drink. Doors open at 7:30. Call 954-981-5653, or visit ftl.improv.com.
