South Floridians love their festivals. From Renaissance fairs to garlic-centric events to beer-guzzling drunk fests, we're all about finding a reason to celebrate something (anything) outdoors. And if there are two things we tend to like the most, it's seafood and art. While we generally stick to one commemoration at a time, occasionally we like to mix it up. This weekend art lovers, seafood fanatics, and those just looking for any reason to have a good time are getting together for the second-annual Arts and Seafood Celebration in Frost Park.
Presented by the Dania Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, the event features two days of festivities on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The party includes tons of family-friendly attractions, like seafood from local vendors, arts and crafts for purchase, sponsored food competitions, local retailer booths, fare from area restaurants, beer and wine, sand sculptures, nautical knickknacks, and live entertainment on a main stage. The Dania Kids Beach Party Area offers multiple attractions for little ones, such as the Sand Clinic, Let's Paint the Fire Truck, Professor Clark and the Science Shark, Macaroni Kid, and the Sea Art Mural. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax for the day. There is no cost to attend. Free parking is located at Dania Casino & Jai Alai and other designated areas near the event. Frost Park is located at 300 NE Second St. in Dania Beach. Call 954-924-6801, or visit daniabeachartsandseafoodcelebration.com.
