After enduring a two-month permitting battle with the City of Boynton Beach, the Boynton Beach Art District's monthly art walk returns this Thursday enlivened and reenergized. With its city ban now lifted, BBAD's Art Walk celebrates its four-year anniversary this week. Sprouting from a nearly abandoned warehouse lot, this event at the local artist enclave has risen to become one of Palm Beach County's most culturally relevant monthly events -- even winning top honors from New Times as the best art walk in Broward and Palm Beach counties. BBAD founder Rolando Barrero says he's dedicated this month to all the community nonprofits for their continued support. Each of the ten artist studios will be open to the general public. There promise to be many other vendors, family-friendly frolicking, savory food trucks, and a special performance from local tween guitar prodigy Alex Shaw leading the way for the School of Rock troupe.
BBAD's Art Walk Revival takes place Thursday from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Boynton Beach Arts District, located at 422 W. Industrial Ave. in Boynton Beach. Free to attend. Call 786-521-1199, or visit activistartista.blogspot.com.
