Dave Barry may be an anagram for "a very drab," but don't expect boredom during his book discussion and Q&A on Tuesday night.
Barry, who must be buds with someone at BrowardBulldog.org, will hawk his latest book and take questions from the audience from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Boardroom Communications, along with BrowardBulldog.org, will host the event at NSU's Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, and Delray bookworms Murder on the Beach will be on-site selling all of Barry's titles.
BrowardBulldog.org is a local alternative-news outlet that runs on donations (instead of table showers). So in reality, we don't really want you to go. We just really like Barry's '60s-mop-top hairstyle. And he won a Pulitzer.
General-admission tickets cost $25 before the event, $35 at the door, and $20 for students with ID. For $90, VIPs will hobnob with the bestselling author over drinks and hors d'oeuvres at a preshow cocktail reception, sit front-row during the talk, and get "priority access" at the book signing. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and at 6:30 p.m. for the cheap seats. Visit browardbulldog.org for ticket info.
