When a comedian is featured on a weekly show with Dane Cook, it should be a good thing for his career. After all, it’s hard not to look funny when compared to Cook. But Robert Kelly managed to make the frat boy favorite look like a comedic mastermind during his appearance on Tourgasm. The highlight of the show was certainly when Kelly tore ligaments in his knee and the cameras caught him crying, thus providing a sound byte that just refuses to get old on The Opie & Anthony Show (where he is consistently upstaged by the much funnier Jim Norton). Maybe it’s not fair to judge Bob’s comedic talents based on a few botched radio and television appearances, but is it wrong to hope he might tear something else when he visits the Palm Beach Improv (550 S. Rosemary Ave., Ste. 250, West Palm Beach) this Thursday through Sunday? Just because, you know, it would be funny. Tickets cost $16 to $18 (plus a two drink minimum). Call 561-833-1812, or visit www.palmbeachimprov.com.
