If you’ve managed to hold on to outdated conventions about video game playing being genetically linked to Y chromosomes, you should swing into New Moon Bar (2440 Wilton Dr., Wilton Manors) on Tuesday. The last decade has transformed gaming from an individual sport into a community event and Guitar Hero, possibly the most addictive of all interactive programs, has been seeping into our nightlife culture.

Visit New Moon on any given night and you’ll find it shoulder-to-shoulder with fun, friendly ladies, but on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month things get a little more competitive, when bartender Penny pulls out the plastic guitars.
