You may consider yourself the ultimate locavore. You shop at locally owned boutiques. You bank at a credit union. The only restaurants you frequent are independently owned and operated -- no chains, obviously. You buy food from within the state, produce from within the tricounty borders. You buy only locally roasted coffee. The only beer you'll drink has a stamp of Florida on the keg. You stick to visiting independent theaters and music venues; you're really into the Broward/Palm Beach scene. But don't pat yourself on the regional back too quickly. Are you watching local filmmakers? Gotcha on that one. Change that around this weekend. On Saturday night, All Together Now at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale is hosting Amid the Street Noise: Short Films on the Peck Terrace. It's a screening, overlooking Las Olas and downtown Fort Lauderdale, of short films, none longer than seven minutes, by South Florida artists. As part of the evening, the museum will provide a free Shark Shuttle to get attendees to FAT Village Art Walk between 8 and 10 p.m. The event takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. There is no cost to attend for members.
