Now that weve doused the sorrow and shame of the past year in alcohol, its time to look toward the future. Were not talking about the new year here; thats for amateurs. Were talking about the future, you know, the future that makes you shudder when its brought up by your significant other. Thats the one, except were not here to tie you down (at least not in the metaphorical sense).

Anyway, back to the future. Maybe youre neurotic and paranoid, with visions that are more apocalyptic than those of your average, sane citizen. Either way, youll get a chance to witness the future as envisioned by Subbora and host of other local artists, ranging from painters to fashion designers and filmmakers, who have taken over all three floors of the 1310 Gallery for the monthlong run of Millenyum Expressions. The opening reception, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the artist-run gallery thats part of the Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts; otherwise, its by-appointment-only viewing until the closing reception. 1310 Gallery is located at 1310 SW Second Court (Middle Street) in Fort Lauderdale.
