Now that we’ve doused the sorrow and shame of the past year in alcohol, it’s time to look toward the future. We’re not talking about the new year here; that’s for amateurs. We’re talking about the future, you know, the future that makes you shudder when it’s brought up by your significant other. That’s the one, except we’re not here to tie you down (at least not in the metaphorical sense).

Anyway, back to the future. Maybe you’re neurotic and paranoid, with visions that are more apocalyptic than those of your average, sane citizen. Either way, you’ll get a chance to witness the future as envisioned by Subbora and host of other local artists, ranging from painters to fashion designers and filmmakers, who have taken over all three floors of the 1310 Gallery for the monthlong run of “Millenyum Expressions.” The opening reception, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the artist-run gallery that’s part of the Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts; otherwise, it’s by-appointment-only viewing until the closing reception. 1310 Gallery is located at 1310 SW Second Court (Middle Street) in Fort Lauderdale. Sat., Jan. 15, 7 p.m., 2011
