Don't You Forget About the '80s Filmmaker John Hughes helped define a generation and captivated audiences all over the world through big-screen hits like Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, and Sixteen Candles. He made us want to fall in the love with the underdog, fake sick to skip school with our friends, and get stuck in Saturday detention. On Friday, via the way of its dance-floor time machine, the Green Room transports us back to the '80s in tribute to John Hughes at the inaugural '80s party. Providing the soundtrack for the night will be local Smiths tribute act Ordinary Boys and resident DJs Lindersmash and Kaos. Projected onto a screen will be clips and moments from some of the best Hughes films. There will be a special photo booth, so don't forget to bring that cheesy smile. Although there is no dress code, wouldn't it be more fun to dress up in your '80s best? Think lots of tulle, crimped hair, and neon clothing brighter than the sun. Green Room is located at 109 SW Second Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-816-3539, or visit greenroomlive.com.
