If you grew up watching Saturday Night Live (and who didn’t?), you’re familiar with the period of time when the show’s popularity declined. But right when SNL’s viewer ratings were scraping the bottom of the barrel, new comedians — and characters — swooped in. All of a sudden, you were graced with the face of the Church Lady reminding you of the old women who warmed your pew on Sunday mornings.

The real Church Lady, Dana Carvey, has had a fruitful career beyond his stint on SNL. He also played Garth to Mike Myers’ Wayne and made his fans suffer through his turtle impressions in The Master of Disguise. Now Parker Playhouse (707 NE Eighth St., Fort Lauderdale) presents you with your own Sunday Night Live when Carvey performs at 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets cost $40.50 to $60.50, depending on how close you want to sit to the comic genius. You can buy your tickets online at parkerplayhouse.com.
Sun., Nov. 7, 7 p.m., 2010
