Twenty years have passed since the Annual Outdoor Juried Art Festival debuted at Mizner Park (433 Plaza Real, Boca Raton). Needless to say, the event has grown considerably in the past two decades, thanks in no small part to its sponsor, the Boca Raton Museum of Art. Now boasting some 250 international artists, the festival is hands-down the museum’s primary public happening. Judging the art this year is Coral Springs Museum of Art executive director Barbara O’Keefe. While 250 contestants sounds like a lot for one person to handle, the number of entries the festival committee received is roughly four-and-a-half times that number (somewhere north of 1,100). So who will win? Will it be an impressionist painter from Europe, a printmaker from Asia, or that whiz-kid graphic artist from next door? Find out for yourself – admission is free. The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Call 561-392-2500, or visit www.bocamuseum.org.
