Not all erotic entertainment happens on 18-inch laptop screens. And cars? They’re more than just rolling computers. In fact, there is a strong sub-culture here that combines the two: the smell of hot steel under the hood and the sight of curvaceous figures on stage. Their home base was the Monterey Club, but, sadly, that spot ran out of gas (closed) at the end of 2011, but that hasn’t meant the end of the road for the scene it hosted. Burlesque Night with Morgan La Rue & the Shimmy Shake Revue will now move up the road like a Ford Popular to Mickey’s Bar (350 SW 12th Ave., Pompano Beach). The entertainment for the night will include stripteases from Sofia Luna, Holly Pueno, Val Vampyre, and lead temptress Morgan La Rue as well a set of rockabilly from Slip and the Spinouts. Outside, hot-rod enthusiasts will be lifting their hoods — though not as gracefully as the ladies on stage — to show off their shiny parts as well. There will be trophies for Best in Show, Best Hot Rod, and Best Custom, and there will be a group cruise beginning at 7 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m. and is free.
