Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is the world's largest funeral party... and South Florida is not one to miss out on the fun. Fat Village will host its third-annual Day of the Dead Celebration on Friday, with art exhibitions, music, shopping, performance art, face painting, and more. The living will celebrate the dead from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fat Village Arts District in downtown Fort Lauderdale along NW Fifth Street at NW First Avenue. The spectacle of performances, interactive activities, and expositions will honor the colorful, age-old Mexican celebration of loved ones lost. The Day of the Dead celebration is free to enter, but be warned: You will most likely want to pay up to have your face painted. Visit dayofthedeadflorida.com.
Fri., Nov. 2, 6-9 p.m., 2012
