Performing at the premier comedy club in Fort Lauderdale, Marvin Dixon's "LOL" Thursdays is a force to be reckoned with. Since the repetition of jokes is a common complaint among comedy patrons, you can rest assured that Dixon will never produce the same material twice. That said, Dixon is the Fort Lauderdale Improv's comedic curator, who handpicks his headliner and feature every week, drawing from a variety of comics and styles. Dixon is a household name in American comedy, having appeared on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, BET's Comic View, and the Tom Joyner Skyy Show, as well as a variety of movies and videos. Being a Miami native, Dixon also hosts his annual event, "The Miami Nites Reunion Show." Even though his run at the Fort Lauderdale Improv is somewhat brief, fans should stay tuned for his DVD Comedy Series, called "The Young Gunz of Comedy." Dixon is sure to tickle your fancy at his standup show on Thursday at the Fort Lauderdale Improv, located at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, 5700 Seminole Way in Hollywood. Tickets are available for purchase at improvftl.com or by calling the box office at 954-981-5653. Tickets cost $14 each; the show is open to those 21 and older and requires a two-drink minimum per person. Dixon's show will continue every Thursday throughout October and November.
