Best Radio Station Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach 2007 - Lynks-FM (104.7)
Rawl, With all due respect just because a station might be underground does not necessarily mean that it doesnot play an important role in the community. So called licensed stations have taken their community and audiences for granted for too long. For the most part local and/or comunity focus have become a thing of the past for many of these stations. I know this is America where the free market rules but really now just how many stations do Clear, CBS, Cox etc need to be effective? Stations like Lynks provide a service that's not being provided by mainstream stations. The demand is there is just not being fulfilled. Thanks for your time.
Hi - can you explain to law abiding citizens and radio lovers how on earth could you give an award to a pirate radio station. Are you all gone mad, pirate radios do not pay FCC fees, they dont account for the music they play so that artist get royalties, they are stealing AIRTIME and this is a federal offence. I am so disappointed with you for encouraging this rampant behavour in South Florida. Please tell me you did not know about this and please tell me you will be revoking this award.
On behalf of the entire staff at LYNKS FM. I would like to thank all who have supported the station over the past two years. Congratulations to the New Times staff for having the foresight to involve the local community in the decision making process.
... and they cross the culture lines. I'm a 50-ish white mid-western transplant. Hardly the demographic you might expect. This station is the one I found immediately when I got here and I love it. They deserve all the kudos they are getting!
