I love the Pelican too and I am a local! Actually I usually only see the locals at Sunday brunch. Tourist too! I eat breakfast there once per week! I love their waffles and their chocolate chip pancakes with bananas! We the locals like to call them monkey bananas:) The Pelican Grand is a great place to have any meal, breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.
local's will never go to a hotel for sunday brunch, TOURIST ONLY, give me Suite 100 in the Las Olas Riverfront!!! where the local's meet and greet, and have lot's of fun, food, and drink!!
Ted,Looks like you have never been to the brunch. Plenty of locals go to enjoy a super brunch on the beach. The food is great. I also saw a write-up in the New York Times recommending brunch at the Pelican Grand as a "to-do" on Sundays. Make a reservation. It was busy last time we went!
