A Fire-Fightin' Irish Celebration
Raise your glass of green beer and toast the firefighters who serve our nation and other countries abroad. Join more than 150,000 attendees for the 45th-annual Delray Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade and weekend celebration, honoring firefighters and their families, on Friday and Saturday. The party begins Friday at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts amphitheater, located at 51 N. Swinton Ave. From 5 to 11 p.m., enjoy bagpipers, Irish step dancing, beer, and authentic Irish food. You won't want to miss the Billy Joel tribute band, Turnstiles.
Continue the celebration on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts. Enjoy vendors, beer and food, and entertainment by the band Nouveaux Honkies. And from 2 to 4 p.m., the community will pay tribute to firefighters and paramedics from near and far in Florida's largest St. Patrick's Day charity parade. The parade will start at Seventh Avenue and head west on Atlantic Avenue, ending at the Delray Beach Fire Department. The entire weekend is free and open to the public.
