South Florida’s premier mixed martial arts events company, Fight Time Promotions, ends its season with a bang (or, rather, a bombastic spinning back fist) Friday at MMA Fight Time 21, as Fight Time Promotions premieres its Featherweight Championship Title. Competing for the inaugural title will be two local standouts from two popular MMA training camps: Randy “Venezuela” Barroso from American Top Team Coconut Creek will be vying for the title (and for local MMA bragging rights) against Jason Soars, a top student at the Freestyle Fighting Academy in Miami. Also on the bill is Brazilian fighter Yuri Villefort. A former pro UFC combatant, Villefort will battle Fort Lauderdale rising star Chris Bennett. Additionally, there will be eight more fights on the undercard, each showcasing a host of local MMA up-and-comers, at this last event of the year for Fight Time Promotions. Doors open at 7 p.m. Friday for Fight Time 21 at the War Memorial, located at 800 NE Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale. General-admission tickets cost $49 to $69, floor $89, and VIP $99.
