A PostDinner Throwdown
A well-executed meal is essentially art fit for the stomach, and many would argue that art is food for the soul. Bottom line? Art and food belong together. The five-week series Eat Your Art Out matches dining experiences at local restaurants with hands-on art classes at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale's AutoNation Academy of Art + Design. This week's edition includes a three-course prix fixe dinner at Indigo Restaurant, which specializes in seafood, steaks, and lighter bites. After you chow down, get your hands dirty in a ceramics class led by Brett Thomas. Learn how to work with clay, and even throw a vessel on the wheel. Just do everyone a favor and refrain from any Ghost references. Dinner is 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at Indigo Restaurant in the Riverside Hotel (620 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale). The art class is 7 to 10 p.m. at the Auto-Nation Academy of Art + Design (305 S. Andrews Ave. in Fort Lauderdale). The session is $65 per person and includes dinner and all art class supplies. Tips and beverages will be charged separately. Remaining Eat Your Art Out events are scheduled for every Monday through March 18. Call 954-525-5500, or visit moafl.org.
Mondays, 7-10 p.m. Starts: Feb. 25. Continues through March 18, 2013
