Before you get all gung-ho about the fourth-annual Animal Adoption Fair at Fort Lauderdale's War Memorial Auditorium, you should fully think this out. Americans love their furry pals, and everyone knows a "forever home" is the best kind. But before you set your eyes on their fuzzy adorableness, ask yourself: Are you ready to be a pet's best friend for the next decade or so? Yes? Then an adoption fair is the perfect opportunity to really get to know a pet before you bring him forever home. So with that in mind, the Adoption Fair will feature plenty of animals in need of a forever home as well as numerous pet-oriented vendors and services. Think of it as a one-stop shop for getting your pet righteous with the county, since there will be onsite vaccinations, microchipping, and ear-cleaning/nail-clipping services. The Animal Adoption Fair will take place Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the War Memorial Auditorium, located at 800 NE Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale. Admission and parking are free. There will be food, prizes, and live entertainment. Call 954-971-4432, or visit animaladoptionfair.com.
Sun., Aug. 24, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., 2014
