An Artistic Excursion
Known as the event that started the art and music scene in Boca Raton, the Edition 11 Art and Music Showcase serves as an outlet for the abundance of talent found in this coastal community. Boasting a homey vibe, this event lets patrons skip around the venue to hear bands playing on the inside of the bar while a DJ entertains the outdoor crowd, all against the backdrop of a "cult classic" movie showing on the huge projection screen wall. Since the showcase's inception in January 2012, at least 130 artists and 150 musicians have taken the stage to exemplify Boca Raton's diverse arts and culture community. Because the show is held during arbitrary times of the year, patrons will never know what to expect. Furthermore, patrons have numerous opportunities for entertainment throughout the night as the music accompanies artwork, dancing, Hula-Hoop, and photography.
Experience this local secret on Friday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., at the Black Rose Irish Pub, located at 234 S. Federal Highway in Boca Raton. This event will feature musicians such as Army Gideon, Hartmann Bidney Minotti, and DJ Project Mayhem as well as a variety of live artists, sculptors, glass blowers, painters, and mixed-media artists. Photo booths and props will also be set up to capture memories throughout the evening. Visit Facebook.com/editionART, or call 561-392-3808. Open to those 21 and up. No cover.
Fri., April 18, 8 p.m.-2 a.m., 2014
