Art Rock Invades the Armory
The annual Art Rock: Art Show and Indie Marketplace will invade the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. Creator and coordinator (and all-around badass) Amanda Linton, along with her husband, partner, and fellow badass, JR, have once again put together a well-rounded arsenal of fine artists, crafters, and one-of-a-kind treasures for shoppers to enjoy at the cash-and-carry Art Rock event, the sister event of the über-successful Stitch Rock, also held annually in Delray Beach. Saturday’s event will include more than 50 independent vendors providing handmade ceramics like Tortuga Tile Works, jewelry and accessories by Migdalia, CAB Fayre, OBIE handmade, and Sew Lola, along with tables upon tables of original art and prints by local artists like Valentina, Paper Sparrow, Alexis Colbert, Ravengirl, and JR Linton’s SlushBox. Admission costs $5 per person, with kids under 12 free with an adult. There will be goody bags of swag for the first 100 guests, so make sure you’re there early. There will also be door prizes, raffles, and free activities for the kiddies throughout the day, making it a super-family-friendly way to spend a Saturday afternoon. PS561 will also be on-site with its regular and vegetarian-friendly hot-dog creations, along with gourmet Feverish Ice Cream & Popsicles and Sugar Mama Sweets mobile cupcake shop. The Armory Art Center is located at 1700 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach. Visit artrockrocks.com.
