Not all crowded events are worth the trek. There's nothing wrong with packed, bustling occasions, but sometimes a quieter night out is what you need to unwind. Saturday's Live Art and Exhibition at Victorios Art Studio is just that: an intimate affair in which live body painting will be part of the entertainment, along with light bites and works featuring young artists. This quaint space, situated on a side street in Victoria Park, is home to BYOB painting parties and various art classes for children and adults. Classes are led by director Elsa Victorios, an internationally acclaimed artist with 30 years or so of teaching experience who fosters a nice welcoming environment for people to play and dabble. On Saturday evening, the studio invites the public to relax and support the arts, big and small. A raffle will take place, hooking up participants with prizes, and quality food will be available for purchase. Be bold and pick up a paintbrush and see what sort of story unfolds. Perhaps you'll pick up a new hobby or better yet explore a latent creative vibe you've been meaning to unleash. The evening gets underway at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Victorios Art Studio, 934 N. Victoria Park Road in Fort Lauderdale. Visit victoriosart.com, or call 954-764-6968. Free.
