Bad Movies, Good Times
Ever seen a movie and thought, "I cold do that better myself"? Prove it! Swede FestTM 2 Palm Beach is about to hit Palm Beach Gardens and make last year's inaugural event look like a shitty prequel. So what is a "swede"? It's a no-budget, three-minute, so-bad-it's-funny remake of your favorite movie. Inspired by the spoofs in 2008's Jack Black and Mos Def spectacle Be Kind Rewind, the sweding trend soon took on a life of its own and found its way to South Florida to help spread the funny. The event will feature a whole slew of swedes like Goodfellas, The Matrix, and Napoleon Dynamite, plus you can chat with the people behind the minimovies. The price to get in might be small, but the laughs are guaranteed to be huge. Swede FestTM 2 Palm Beach is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Midtown's Borland Center for the Performing Arts (4801 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens). Admission is $5 online, $8 VIP with limited-edition lanyard, or $6 cash at the door. Contact Belle Forino at firstname.lastname@example.org or 561-282-4623.
