Beat the Heat
It's a hot Saturday night with nowhere to go and nothing and no one to do. Luckily South Florida has options. You can cruise around and play the classic game "How slow is the old person driving in front me?" or there's always Arts, Eats, Beats, and Treats, a weekly event set up to encourage locals and those visiting to beat the heat in style.
Every Saturday of the summer, Downtown at the Gardens has a cultural event that mixes all of the best South Florida has to offer. There's an abundance of art to titillate the eyes, music to awaken the ears, food to fill a hungry stomach, and various surprises to satiate the curious. Downtown at the Gardens is known for its plentiful restaurants, so there's no need to fret about not finding what you want. Each new Saturday offers a pop/rock band there for if you feel like listening, dancing, or getting carried away. This week, high-energy party band Sound Proof will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.
Downtown at the Gardens is located at 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave. in Palm Beach Gardens. Call 561-340-1600, or visit downtownatthegardens.com.
