You’ve seen the movie Beerfest at least 20 times. Each time you watch the drunk-heavy film, you lament the fact that you can’t experience “Das Boot” without actually traveling to Germany. Your friends try to cheer you up with rounds of beer pong but alas your sadness remains. The American German Club of the Palm Beaches feels your pain. That’s why they’re bringing you the 37th Oktoberfest. Now you and your friends can experience all the glories of German celebration without the price of airfare. Head to Lake Worth (specifically 5111 Lantana Road) to see the beer tapping ceremony, taste traditional German food, and drink copious amounts of traditional Oktoberfest beer. The festivities last from Friday to Sunday and then again from October 15 to 17. Hours are from 5 to 11 p.m. on Fridays, noon to 11 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
