Big Truck Go Smash!
No need to rubberneck on I-95. Now you can witness a five-car pileup with none of the guilt about who might have been hurt, when Monster Jam roars into the BB&T Center this Friday and Saturday. More than 30 tons of rubber, metal, glass, and guts will take over the arena floor. Like robotic gladiators, Grave Digger, Max D, Monster Mutt, and El Diablo will smash, crush, and destroy for 120 minutes of pulverizing pleasure. But don't forget to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into creating each of these destruction machines. Everything, from the custom-built methanol-injected tires to the painstaking paint jobs, was made to order. The drivers are protected in five-point racing harnesses so you can enjoy the crash without fear of human carnage. You can even meet the drivers and get closeup photos of the trucks at Party in the Pits for free as long as you pick up your pit pass at a participating Advance Auto Parts store before the night of the show. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Gates open an hour before each show. Advance adult tickets start at $15, and kids' tickets cost $10 for children 12 and younger. All seats cost $2 more for adults and $1 more for kids if purchased the day of the show. The Pit Party is Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit monsterjam.com. To purchase tickets, visit the BB&T Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet, visit ticketmaster.com, or call 800-745-3000. BB&T Center is located at 1 Panther Parkway in Sunrise.
Fri., Aug. 16, 7:30 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 17, 2 & 7:30 p.m., 2013
