Be a witness as Texas old school collides with Motor City throwbacks at 9 p.m. at the Bamboo Room (25 South J St, Lake Worth). Kim Wilson, former frontman for Austin, Texas’s own Fabulous Thunderbirds, joins Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones for a night of blues grooves and note-bending. Wilson and his Thunderbirds flew into the Texas blues scene in 1974. Decades later, the ´Birds’ Muddy Waters-influenced mix of Texas blues and swamp style have made the group a household name. Now, Deming and the Tones are starting to get their feet wet and have found themselves on the fast path to making their own name, especially with their recent release Double Down. Combined, these two blues bosses promise to serve up some old school 1950s Chicago-style blues that will get you to swing, boogie, and jive. Tickets cost $28.
