Bob Saget: Its Still a Shock How Gross Hell Get
You could always tell, if you looked closely, that Bob Saget really was dying inside with every cheesy joke ABC shoved in his mouth before tapings of Americas Funniest Home Videos. Hed parrot some lame line, then arch his eyebrows and sigh. We both know Im full of shit, it seemed to say. Little did viewers at the time know Saget would wind up singing My Dog Licked My Balls during his HBO special, or stealing The Aristocrats with the perviest among pervy telling of the titular (tee-hee) joke. I have so much family television I have Tourettes now, he says on stage, before launching into a expletive-laced routine about expletives. We knew he wasnt strictly a network puppet, sure, but we didnt know he was a full-blown sick bastard.
What do I hate most about Bob Saget? comic Alonzo Bodden said before Sagets Comedy Central roast. The fact that people think hes a nice guy. And hes filthy. Maybe he is a nice guy (he does stump for scleroderma research, e.g.) and maybe he is filthy. Maybe hes even nice and filthy. Just remember not to take your mom, even if she begs to see that all-American erstwhile introducer of testicular collisions. Catch Saget at the Palm Beach Improv (550 S. Rosemary Ave., Suite 250, West Palm Beach) at City Place on Friday at 8 and 10:30 p.m., and Saturday at 7 and 9:15 p.m. Tickets cost $37. Call 561-833-1812 or visit www.palmbeachimprov.com.
