Whether they are confidently elevating a modest A-cup to Parton-sized portions or carefully flattening and tucking away à la Hillary Swank in Boys Dont Cry, a decent bra can be a true work of art. So why is it that these specimens of artistry get relegated to Goodwills 99-cent bin the minute a stray wire busts loose from the stitching? Thursday, the beloved over-the-shoulder boulder holder is finally getting the respect its due when ArtyBras returns to Lighthouse Art Center (373 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta) for an art show. Decorative bras created by local artists will be on display starting today and running through February 10. Using themes of frosted cupcakes, stuffed animals, flowers, and the like, artists have created these pieces of wearable art in honor of breast cancer survivors Carolyn Austin and Betty Laur. The exhibit costs $5. Call 561-746-3101, or visit lighthousearts.org.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: Jan. 6. Continues through Feb. 10, 2011
