Bringing Brazil to You
When is the last time you took a vacation? Like, a real one where you leave your world behind for a week with no work obligations or distractions? If you're a typical workaholic American, we are going to guess it's been awhile. Between the cost of flights and hoops you have to jump through to get time off, vacation is more of a thought than a privilege. And that's why it is so crucial to take advantage of all your surroundings, especially when they can whisk your mind away but still keep your feet grounded.
Luckily, we already live in a tropical paradise, and this Saturday, the vacation is coming to you with the return of the Brazilian Festival of Pompano Beach. The culture, the food, and the music are all coming alive in one mega event sure to make you feel like you're in another place. The best part of this staycation? It's free. This event is stacked with everything from a fashion show to a kids' zone and even a raffle for two tickets to Brazil to take it to the next level. But really, who needs a pesky flight and a stuffed suitcase for a good time when it's all within your reach in Pompano Beach?
The second-annual Brazilian Festival of Pompano Beach is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Pompano Beach Community Park, located at 820 NE 18th Ave. Admission is free, but you are encouraged to bring a food donation. For more information, call 305-651 3993, or visit brazilianfestpompano.com.
Sat., Nov. 23, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., 2013
