The South Florida location of drag-show mainstay Lips has gathered crowds for three years. It’s no surprise — the giddily ostentatious shows are entertaining — so it seems fitting that, in its third year of success, a third show has been added to the Saturday-night lineup — a show reserved for guests 21 and over. Hosted by Diva and brought to you by popular customer demand, the exact details of “Taboo” are akin to its title. We can tell you only that the set begins at midnight, is quirkily known as “The Forbidden Show,” and that it promises to be, as Lips’ website states, “daringly different.” We can expect Taboo to be a little scandalous, a little extravagant and — most of all — maddeningly droll. “The addition of Taboo reflects our ongoing success,” says Lips’ founder, Yvonne Lamé, “and speaks volumes to our unique brand of dining and entertainment.” Whether you’ve yet seen their tried-and-true shows, you’ll definitely want to check out the latest, wildly fun endeavor from these ladies. Seating is at 11:30 p.m. at Lips (1421 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Oakland Park). Call 954-567-0987. There’s a $10 cover, plus a $15 food/drink minimum. Remember, got to be 21 and over for this show.
Saturdays, 11:30 p.m. Starts: March 5. Continues through Aug. 27, 2011
