Celebrations and Pistons
Anniversaries tend to be more of an excuse to celebrate, but for Amanda Linton and her tattooing hubby, J.R., they truly have a reason to throw a party and invite everyone in town. They have created a special place with Ink & Pistons, one that not only creates some of the area's most eye-catching tattoos but also appeals to a greater audience through an art gallery with show openings for the public. It's created a new kind of space, one where those without ink can feel comfortable and get their art fix in the same building where tattoos are being created.
For the anniversary party, artwork will be displayed by more than 30 artists -- some of it by tattoo artists and others by simply badass creators. In true Ink & Pistons fashion, the event will also feature a Hot Rod "Park N. Show" and Palm Beach County's premiere hot dog truck, PS561. It wouldn't be a celebration without giveaways, food, and drinks, and all will be served up. Amanda and J.R. work hard to create an inviting local scene where you can be yourself and even learn a thing or two about art. The Ink & Pistons shop itself is big, but the parking lot is even bigger. And they are going to need all the space they can get -- people love this place and will come out to support it, rain or shine.
The Ink & Pistons Anniversary Party, Art Show, and Hot Rod Round Up is Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. Ink & Pistons Tattoo Shop is located at 2716 S. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach. Admission is free. Visit inkandpistons.com, or call 561-832-4655.
