Cool Stuff Here! Cool Stuff for Sale!
Roads and streets are for driving on, but avenues and boulevards were meant to be strolled leisurely. But this is America, and we simply cannot do one thing at a time. We are multitaskers. So if we are going to be strolling in the beautiful Florida winter weather, we better at least be looking at some cool shit. And so the art fair was born -- in this case the 24th-annual Las Olas Art Fair. Sprawling the length of Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale, from SE Sixth Avenue to SE 11th Avenue, the Las Olas Art Fair is a South Florida tradition that features more than 300 artists from 30 states with art available for purchase, ranging from $25 to $30,000. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Las Olas Association, which works to maintain and improve the downtown thoroughfare. There will be paintings, life-sized sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, and more -- and all of the artists will be on hand to answer questions. The fair is free and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday . Visit artfestival.com, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 561-746-6615.
Sat., Jan. 8, 10 a.m.; Sat., Jan. 7, 10 a.m., 2011
