Do You Party?
When Afrobeta scored the sweetest time slot of all at the Bayfront Live Stage at Ultra Music Festival prior to Orbitals performance, one hoped they would make the best out if it and rep South Florida well. Not surprisingly, they did, and perhaps thats why they are crossing the pond. Tony Smurphio and Cuci Amador will make their first European appearance at this years Glastonbury Festival in the U.K., along with subsequent dates in Ibiza and Amsterdam. But before departing, South Florida will have a chance to wish them bon voyage at Grand Central (697 N. Miami Ave., Miami), Miamis newest live music venue. It will also give listeners a chance to hear stuff from their latest EP, Do You Party?, which features the catchy title track along with their best track to date, Play House. We released the EP in order to have something ready for Winter Music Conference, Amador explains. We only released it in Miami, but it will be released digitally sometime in June.
Along for the ride is Brooklyn DJ Dances With White Girls as well as Poplifes resident DJs Mike Deuce and Jessica Who. Nightdrive DJs Laura of Miami and Stravinski will keep things moving in the garage. Doors open at 10 p.m.; 18 and over with I.D. Cover is $10 with RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org, $15 without. Visit epoplife.com, or call 305-377-2277.
