Just because you're a starving artist doesn't mean you have to hang in your garret all the time. Come on over to Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Boulevard on Saturday and make art a communal experience at the Quick Draw Las Olas art event. You'll have two hours to create a masterpiece from scratch in one of three categories: Plein Air, for folks who like to paint what they're looking at (in this case the architecture and street life of the city's lively Spanish-style shopping and dining corridor); Plain Fun, for those who just want to do their own thing (hmm); and Young Artist under 18.
Plein Air will be judged by Tom Rossetti, owner of the New River Fine Art Gallery; Scott Reikerd, manager of Seldom Seen, will handle the Plain Funsters; and Pam Huizenga Alexander of Joe Picasso's, will ump the kids.
