One mention of Celtic music might paint the image of days of old when big, hairy men played fiddles in matching cable-knit jumpers. But these startling images will soon be replaced with ones of beauty when you see and hear the Irish musical ensemble Celtic Woman perform in its 2013 North American Tour. The ensemble, recently named Billboard magazine’s number-one World Music Artist, combines the talent of gifted Irish vocalists Chloë Agnew, Lisa Lambe, and Susan McFadden and violinist Máiréad Nesbitt. Under the musical direction of Emmy-nominated music producer David Downes, the women perform traditional Irish tunes, pop anthems, and inspirational songs like “Amazing Grace” and “You Raise Me Up.” The group, whose albums have sold more than 7 million copies around the world, is backed by a full band, a six-member choir, bagpiper Anthony Byrne, and championship Irish dancer Craig Ashurst. Don’t miss this dynamic foursome on Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, located at 701 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach. Ticket prices start at $25.
