South Floridians may not know autumn by the chill in the air or the changing of the leaves, but the All Hallows Eve festivities are a sure sign that it has arrived once again. Whether you "trick" or "treat," the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Health Fair on Saturday is fun for the whole family and your little dog too.
T.Y. Park (3300 N. Park Rd., Hollywood) hosts the fair and its many activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring your Halloween garb for a costume contest. Pets are allowed and have a costume contest of their own, so get creative, and bring your four-legged friend. Playing dress-up isn't for you? Try your hand at traditional Halloween pumpkin carving. There will be a carving contest as well, so better get practicing!
If costumes or carving pumpkins are not your gigs, you may want to check out the Fall Festival while your kids jump in the bounce house. The whole family can enjoy an old-fashioned hayride, but you better bring some Claritin just in case. Come out to the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Health Fair for a fun and safe way to welcome the new season. One more key thing that makes this event great -- it's free!
