The dark days of the holiday season are upon us. Yes, I said dark days with vampire movies at peak popularity and black eyeliner breaking sales records, weve got a full-blown gothic movement on our hands, and our Christmas is going to reflect that fact. So forget about the reindeer and Santa Claus, and absorb the darkness of the Grinch and Ebeneezer Scrooge because from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., Underground Coffeehaus (2743 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) will be the gathering grounds for goth kids.
Say bah-humbug to your ugly-Christmas-sweater party (goth kids dont wear ugly Christmas sweaters) and adopt a shindig where you can celebrate comfortably in your black fishnets, combat boots, black wedding dress, or other suitably morbid attire. Seriously, what better time to act mopey, commiserate, or pretend-cry than at a blow-out holiday goth party? Sip ghouly eggnog or other coffee drinks while watching films The Nightmare Before Christmas, Heathers, and The Bride (which stars Sting). The soundtrack for the night will be provided by the Smiths and Morrissey, of course. No cover fee.
