A common promise that may accompany a night on the town involves something suspect along the lines of "Yeah, I'll definitely call." Dine for Promise on Monday night at the Union restaurant in Delray Beach is a bit more altruistic in its intentions. Money raised during the short but sweet fundraiser will be funneled to Family Promise of South Palm Beach County, which uses its resources to assist local kids and families faced with homelessness. Hip haunt Union -- which recently forged an in-house collaboration with Candyfish Gourmet Sushi -- will offer specially priced Asian fusion dishes and a free cocktail to attendees. As a donation, Waste Management, the corporate sponsor for the event, plans to match the dinner tab for each guest, and the Union will throw in an additional 15 percent of the night's revenue. Dine for Promise is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday. The only price for admission is the price of your meal. Organizers expect a capacity crowd: Reserve a table by emailing [email protected]. Union is located at 8 E. Atlantic Ave. in Delray Beach. Call 561-330-4236, or visit familypromisespbc.org.
